ZONECAR INSURANCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(APPLICABLE FOR CUSTOMER AND HOST)
1. Basic Shield: Covers damage and downtime up to Rs. 10,000/-
(Rs. 999/-premium)
2. Premium Protect: Covers damage and downtime up to Rs.
30,000/- (Rs. 1,999/-premium)
3. Elite Secure: Covers damage and downtime up to Rs. 75,000/-
(Rs. 2,999/-premium)

INSURANCE POLICY DETAILS
Basic Shield
1. Policy Amount: Rs. 999/-
2. Coverage: Damage and downtime
3. Coverage Limit: Up to Rs. 10,000
4. Excess Liability: Customer pays excess amount above Rs. 10,000
5. Exclusions: Vehicle towing charges
6. Speed Limit: 100 km/h exceeding this speed voids insurance coverage.
( Speed Limit Exclusion : If the vehicle exceeds 100 km/h at any point during
the entire trip, the insurance coverage will not be applicable, and the customer
will be fully liable for any damages or losses incurred.)
How it Works
1. Claim Amount less than Rs. 10,000: Customer pays Rs. 999/- as premium,
and insurance covers the claim amount.
2. Claim Amount more than Rs. 10,000: Customer pays Rs. 999/- as premium,
insurance covers the first Rs. 10,000, and customer pays the excess amount.
Example
1. Claim Amount: Rs. 20,000
2. Insurance Coverage: Rs. 10,000
3. Customer Liability: Rs. 10,000 (excess amount above Rs. 10,000)
Important Notes
1. Vehicle towing charges are not included in the coverage.
2. If the customer exceeds the speed limit of
100 km/h, the insurance coverage will be void, and the customer will be liable
for all damages and costs.
DOWNTIME CHARGES
In the event of an accident, the customer shall be liable for downtime
charges equivalent to:
- 50% of the daily rental amount, per day
- or 50% of the hourly rental amount, per hour
from the time the vehicle is taken to the garage until it is returned to the
pick - up location.
Premium Protect
1. Policy Amount: Rs. 1,999/-
2. Coverage: Damage and downtime
3. Coverage Limit: Up to Rs. 30,000
4. Excess Liability: Customer pays excess amount above Rs. 30,000
5. Exclusions: Vehicle towing charges

Important Notes

Exclusions and Conditions
The following conditions void the insurance coverage:
1. Driving Under Influence: Driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol
or drugs.
2. Unauthorized Drivers: Allowing anyone other than the booked customer to
drive the vehicle.
3. Illegal Activities: Using the vehicle for any illegal activities.
4. Tyre Damage: Damage to car tyres due to driving habits or off-road driving.
5. Off-Road Driving: Driving the vehicle on off-road terrain.
6. Personal Belongings: Loss or damage to customer's personal belongings.
7. Video Documentation: Failure to take videos with the host at pickup and
drop-off.
Important Notes
- Insurance coverage is exclusive of the above conditions.
- Customers are responsible for understanding and adhering to
these conditions.
Declaration of Travel Plans
The customer must declare their correct travel plans and destination at the
time of booking.
Failure to do so may result in:
• Insurance coverage being voided
• No claims being entertained
Insurance Claim Process
1. Damage Verification: Our Zonecar inspection surveyor verifies damages
before processing claims.
2. Mandatory Video Documentation:
Customer and host record videos:
• Before booking starts (pick-up)
• At end of booking (drop-off)
Videos must include: date, time, and location.
3. No Video, No Claim: Insurance claims require video documentation.
By meeting these requirements, claims will be processed promptly and
efficiently.
Note: This process is mandatory to ensure a smooth and fair claims process.
Incorrect Travel Plans
If the customer provides incorrect or misleading information regarding their
travel plans and an accident occurs, the insurance coverage will not be
applicable.
Eligibility and Exclusions
1. Age Requirement: Customers must be
22 years old or above to be eligible for insurance claims.
2. Prohibited Activities: Insurance claims will not be entertained for accidents
or damages resulting from:
• Consumption of alcohol
• Use of drugs or other illegal substances
• Engagement in any illegal activities
3. Student Policy: Students are strictly prohibited from leasing and renting
vehicles if they are under 22 years old. Insurance claims will not be entertained
for students under this age.
Note: These conditions apply to all customers and are non-negotiable.
Important Notice
Before purchasing our insurance packages, please note:
1. Our Zonecar team will provide clear notice of the terms and conditions.
2. It is the customer's responsibility to read and understand all terms and
conditions carefully.
Exceeding Limits or Standards
Insurance claims will be STRICTLY NOT ENTERTAINED if the customer:
• Exceeds the designated limits
• Crosses the standard insurance thresholds
• Drives above the speed limit of 100 km/h
Adhering to the terms and conditions is essential to ensure a valid claim.
Confirmation of Understanding
Both the Customer and Host acknowledge that. they have:
1. Read the terms and conditions carefully.
2. Understood the requirements and limitations.
3. Agreed to adhere to the specified terms.
By proceeding, both parties confirm their understanding and acceptance of the
terms and conditions.
HOST NOTICE
Mandatory GPS Tracking System
Hosts are required to purchase our GPS tracking system, priced at ₹3,920
(inclusive of VAT and installation charges).
Existing GPS Devices
If the host already has their own GPS device, please note that:
- We are not responsible for the device's tracking functionality.
- Our insurance package will not be applicable.
No GPS, No Insurance Claim
Failure to purchase our GPS tracking system will result in the insurance
package being rendered null and void for the host.
Host's Responsibility
If the host fails to purchase the mandatory GPS tracking system and the vehicle
meets with an accident:
- The host will be solely responsible for any damages or losses.
- Our insurance policy, purchased by the customer, will not cover the host's
liability.
It is the host's obligation to ensure the GPS tracking system is installed to avoid
bearing full responsibility in the event of an accident.
Customer's Responsibility
If the customer chooses not to purchase our insurance policy and the vehicle
meets with an accident:
- The customer will be solely responsible for all damages and losses.
- The customer will bear all costs associated with repairs, recovery, and any
third-party claims.
By declining our insurance policy, the customer acknowledges and accepts full
liability in the event of an accident.
